Jean Humphries
Jean Humphries has been a member of First Baptist Church of Hatfield for 29 years, and for more than 13 of those years she has served faithfully as the church secretary and clerk.
Originally from Terre Haute, Indiana, Ms. Jean came to Hatfield most immediately from California where she lived for some time with her husband Allen. She was saved by the Lord’s grace at the age of 24 at Central Baptist Church in Indio, California where she was attending with Allen. Allen was saved around the same time, and the two have built a life serving the Lord together wherever He leads them.
If you give her time and opportunity, Ms. Jean will be happy to share with you some of the innumerable evidences of God’s grace in her life, beginning with salvation and including most recently the miraculous healing God has been working in Allen’s life. She gives all the credit and all tge glory to God for everything worthwhile in her life.
As to how Jean and Allen found their way here, she recalls that when they prepared to move to Arkansas she sent letters requesting information from churches in the state, and First Baptist Church of Hatfield was the first and only church to respond to her request. So they found their way to the area, visited our church, and never left. For her, as for so many of our members, First Baptist Church is not just an organization — it is a home. It is a family.
We are all the richer for having Ms. Jean in our family.
