First Baptist Church Hatfield Children's Ministry
"Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'” (Matthew 19:14, NIV)
At First Baptist Church of Hatfield, we love children and we take seriously our Lord's desire that we lead the children to him. We have a variety of opportunities for children to worship, learn, and express their faith in ways that are meaningful to them. Read on to learn more.
Children's Church / Praise Kids
Children's Church meets on the first and third Sundays of each month. The entire congregation worships together through music and prayer in the sanctuary, but during the sermon our children (through 3rd grade) are invited to go to children's church where loving volunteers teach an age-appropriate Bible lesson with related arts & crafts activities.
Praise Kids meets on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Again, the entire congregation worships together until the time for the sermon, at which point our Praise Kids are invited to assemble for a time of learning songs of praise, a time of fellowship and games, and a Bible lesson.
Nursery
For parents of children up to age three, we offer a nursery in which loving volunteer church members care for and play with your young children in order to allow you to focus on hearing and learning the Word of God. Your young children will enjoy freedom to play and learn with toys, and you will enjoy knowing that your children are safe and loved as you seek to grow in your faith.
J.A.M. (Jesus And Me)
JAM (Jesus And Me) is an after-school enrichment ministry for children of all ages that seeks to serve all the children and youth in our community. Some of our local schools will even deliver your children to the church for JAM with appropriate parental consent.
JAM participants enjoy a hearty after-school snack prepared in our kitchen as well as graded classes for times of Bible study, crafts and activities, and even outdoor recreation (weather permitting.) JAM meets Wednesdays during the school year, 4:15-5:45 PM.
For registration forms or school bus dropoff consent forms, you may contact the church office or simply bring your child to JAM and we'll handle the paperwork while they're enjoying JAM. For your convenience, you can also register your child online. Please complete a new form for each child you are enrolling.
